Mayor’s Diversity Celebration Awards
On May 20, 2010, Jorge Jaramillo, President of San Mateo County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce was joined by: Vice Mayor of Redwood City, Alicia Aguirre; Honorable Assembly Member Jerry Hill; Honorable Assembly Member Ira Ruskin; and Mayors of San Mateo County and honored individuals from San Mateo County who are making our community a better place. As always there were lots of great supporters of the event: Kaiser Permanente, Comcast, Target, AAA, Redwood City Saltworks, PG&E, Alex Sotelo Cellars, and Yerba Buena Engineering & Construction.

Rams Gala Reception & Celebrity Forum
On May 12, 2010, Soleil Portraits photography joined Senator Leland Yee and Rams (Richmond Area Multi-Services, Inc) for the 35th Anniversary Gala, celebrating the Asian Pacific American Heritage Month. At the beautiful Hotel Kabuki in Japan town, San Francisco, we celebrated with Cocktails, Live DJ, great food, a Silent Auction and an interactive conversation forum with the celebrities such as: Chloe Dao, winner of Bravo’s Project Runway; Chef Hung Huynh, winner of Bravo’s Top Chef; Tammy and Victor Jih, winners of CBS’s Amazing Race; Dr. Pamela Ling, cast member of MTV’s The Real World, San Francisco; with Moderator Senator Leland Yee. Each celebrity discussed their perspective and experience of being Asian American on popular reality television shows, the psychology behind the shows, and how reality television is a cultural phenomenon that is shaping society and Changing Reality. Thank you to Kavoos G. Bassiri, LMFT, CGP, President and Chief Executive Officer and the Management Team at Rams for including Soleil Portraits in such an awesome event.

Why Portrait Photography?
I think we all ask this question, especially since most people own a camera or an iphone. Why would you hire a professional photographer to photograph your family or loved ones? It is a good question. If you are taking pics on a daily basis to post on Facebook or just for fun, then you certainly don’t need a professional portrait of you or your family.
